Our Tuesday outlook set a short from 7,608 to 7,616. The December S&P 500 contract opened Tuesday’s session at 7,584.00 at the Monday 6:00 PM ET reopen, already 2.00 points beneath the 7,586 first target. So two targets printed before the band ever traded: 7,586 in the opening bar and 7,560 in the 12:30 AM ET bar. The band traded only in the 10:30 AM ET bar. From then to the 4:30 PM ET bar the lowest print was 7,587.25, and the 7,638 stop never traded. No fill and no result is asserted.
Then the evening redrew the map. December E-mini futures settled at 7,596.75 on Tuesday, up 22.25 points or 0.29 percent, the first higher settle after three lower ones. The reopened session for Wednesday rose to 7,633.50 in the 6:30 PM ET bar. It then fell to 7,490.00 in the 10:00 PM ET bar. As of 10:15 PM ET the contract traded at 7,498.25, 98.50 points or 1.30 percent beneath the settle. That decline is 20.75 points larger than Tuesday’s whole 77.75 point range. The 10:00 PM ET bar was still forming at 10:15 PM ET.
December S&P 500 futures settled at 7,596.75 on Tuesday, beneath the 5-day, 20-day, 50-day and 100-day settlement averages and 163.75 points above the 200-day. As of 10:15 PM ET the reopened Wednesday session traded at 7,498.25, after a 7,633.50 high in the 6:30 PM ET bar and a 7,490.00 low in the 10:00 PM ET bar. Wednesday’s setup, set at 10:15 PM ET from that overnight trade, is a short from 7,527 to 7,535. The band sits beneath Tuesday’s settle, its top 61.75 points down, and above the 7,498.25 print, its bottom 28.75 points up. The stop is 7,556, above Pivot S1 at 7,553.92 and 40.75 beneath the settle. The first target, 7,506, sits 7.75 above the 7,498.25 print; the second, 7,481, and an extended 7,456 sit beneath both the print and the 7,490.00 overnight low. Per the dataset’s model levels, the 7,568.92 cash close sits 68.92 points above the 7,500 put-side support base (ES 7,527.83 at the measured basis) and 42.08 beneath the 7,611 modeled gamma-flip level (ES 7,638.83). The trade report is scheduled for 8:30 AM ET on Wednesday, as the calendar lists it.
Tuesday’s targets printed before the 7,608 to 7,616 band traded
In Tuesday’s outlook we set a short from 7,608 to 7,616. Its stop sat at 7,638. The targets were 7,586, 7,560 and an extended 7,534. Tuesday’s completed bar, from the review and the dated 2026-11-03 row, opened at 7,584.00 at the Monday 6:00 PM ET reopen. It marked a high of 7,623.75 and a low of 7,546.00, and settled at 7,596.75. The band and two targets traded. The order decides the grade.
The 30-minute bars fix that order. The session opened 2.00 points beneath the first target and 24.00 beneath the band bottom. The opening bar traded down to 7,571.50, through 7,586. The 12:30 AM ET bar reached 7,557.25, through 7,560. Both prints came before any entry, so neither counts for the card. Through the 10:00 AM ET bar the highest print was 7,604.75, in the 8:30 AM ET bar, 3.25 beneath the band.
The band traded at last. The 10:30 AM ET bar ran from 7,590.75 to 7,616.25, through the whole band and 0.25 above its top. Then the closes held up. The 1:00 PM ET bar closed at 7,616.50 and the 1:30 PM ET bar at 7,616.75. That pair met the acceptance test the card named, two consecutive 30-minute closes above 7,616. By the card’s own terms the edge was gone. The 1:30 PM ET bar made the 7,623.75 high, 14.25 beneath the 7,638 stop. The stop never traded.
The targets did not return. After the band traded, the lowest print through the 4:30 PM ET bar was 7,587.25, in the 2:30 PM ET bar. That sits 1.25 above the first target. The extended 7,534 never traded at all; the 7,546.00 low sat 12.00 above it. The settle finished 11.25 beneath the band bottom and 10.75 above the first target. The card negated its thesis on a settle above Pivot R1 at 7,655.25. The high stopped 31.50 beneath that line. No fill and no result is asserted.
Our ranges held. The low-range case, 7,545 to 7,625, contained the whole session: the high sat 1.25 beneath its top and the low 1.00 above its bottom. The bars grade the intraday bands too. The night session to 3:00 AM ET traded from 7,546.00 to 7,591.50, inside its 7,545 to 7,625 band by 1.00 at the bottom. London, 3:00 AM to 8:00 AM ET, ran from 7,553.00 to 7,577.00. The morning, 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM ET, ran from 7,576.50 to 7,618.25, and the afternoon, 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM ET, from 7,587.25 to 7,623.75. Each stayed inside its band.
The weighted path held too. Tuesday’s outlook expected a hold between Pivot S1 at 7,532.25 and Pivot R1 at 7,655.25. In that judgment a rebound toward the Pivot Point at 7,613.00 that stalled beneath the 7,633.10 conversion was weighted above a recovery through Pivot R1. The 10:30 AM ET bar first traded above the Pivot Point, and the high stalled 9.35 beneath 7,633.10. The low held 13.75 above Pivot S1. One wrinkle came first. The 12:30 AM ET bar traded beneath Friday’s 7,558.25 low, the trigger of the third scenario, before any rebound. We grade the card as written. Two targets printed before the band, the band traded, the acceptance closes followed, and no result is claimed.
Down 98.50 by 10:15 PM ET, through Pivot S2 at 7,511.08
Wednesday’s session reopened at 6:00 PM ET on Tuesday. The 6:30 PM ET bar reached 7,633.50, the overnight high as of 10:15 PM ET. From there each bar printed lower. The 7:30 PM ET bar traded through Pivot S1 at 7,553.92, the 8:00 PM ET bar through Tuesday’s 7,546.00 low, and the 8:30 PM ET bar through the 7,527.83 conversion of the 7,500 put-side base. The 9:30 PM ET bar traded through Pivot S2 at 7,511.08, and the 10:00 PM ET bar reached 7,490.00. That bar was still forming at 10:15 PM ET, with the contract at 7,498.25.
The 8:00 PM ET bar fell 30.00 points and the 9:00 PM ET bar 23.00. Between 8:16 PM ET and 9:11 PM ET the news feed carried projections of US election results, and those two bars coincided with them. These are projections carried by the news feed, not certified results. The bars do not establish that any headline caused a move.
Wednesday’s levels were set at 10:15 PM ET from that trade. The 8:30 PM ET and 9:00 PM ET bars traded across the 7,527 to 7,535 band before the levels were set. From the 9:30 PM ET bar to 10:15 PM ET the highest print was 7,524.00, 3.00 beneath the band.
The basis narrowed again. Tuesday’s 7,596.75 settle less the 7,568.92 cash close measures 27.83 points, against 33.10 on Monday, and every cash equivalent here uses the new figure. The dataset keeps its own 31.85 point offset, 4.02 wider. Its published futures pairs are 8,131.85 for the 8,100 call-side ceiling, 8,031.85 for the 8,000 gamma concentration, 7,681.85 for the 7,650 modeled volatility threshold, 7,642.85 for the 7,611 modeled gamma-flip level and 7,531.85 for the 7,500 put-side support base.
Resistance starts 3.95 points above the settle, at the 7,600.70 turning-point projection (cash 7,572.87). The 7,609.25 post-settlement print in the 4:30 PM ET bar follows, then Friday’s 7,614.00 settle. Tuesday’s 7,623.75 high (cash 7,595.92), the 7,627.83 conversion of the dataset’s 7,600 pivot and Pivot R1 at 7,631.67 sit within 7.92 points. The 7,633.50 overnight high, the 7,638.83 conversion of the 7,611 flip level and the dataset’s own 7,642.85 pair come next.
Higher up, the 5-day average at 7,664.50 and Pivot R2 at 7,666.58 (cash 7,638.75) sit 2.08 apart. The 7,677.83 conversion of the 7,650 threshold, the dataset’s 7,681.85 pair, the 9-day crossing price at 7,681.91 and the one-range frame top at 7,686.67 sit within 8.84. One standard deviation resistance at 7,693.44 and Monday’s 7,693.75 high (cash 7,665.92) sit 0.31 apart. The 100-day at 7,702.75, Pivot R3 at 7,709.42 (cash 7,681.59), the 7,727.83 conversion of 7,700 and two standard deviations resistance at 7,733.49 follow. The 20-day at 7,748.00, the 50-day at 7,751.00 and three standard deviations resistance at 7,764.22 come next. The 7,819.50 high of the week of October 26, the 7,897.50 one-month high and the 52-week high of 7,905.00 from 08/13 (cash 7,877.17) sit higher. That 52-week high sits 308.25 points or 4.06 percent above the settle. The 8,031.85 and 8,131.85 pairs complete the list.
Support starts 7.92 points down, at the Pivot Point at 7,588.83 (cash 7,561.00). Tuesday’s 7,584.00 open, Monday’s 7,574.50 settle, Monday’s 7,570.75 low and the 3-10 day crossover stall level at 7,569.75 follow. Friday’s 7,558.25 low sits beneath them. Then a tight group. Pivot S1 at 7,553.92 (cash 7,526.09), Tuesday’s 7,546.00 low and the published target price at 7,544.42 sit within 9.50. Tuesday’s low is the lowest since the 7,492.75 low of 07/31/26, and the provider publishes it as the one-month and 13-week low.
The band sits in the next group. The dataset’s 7,531.85 pair and the 7,527.83 conversion of the 7,500 base both sit inside 7,527 to 7,535. Pivot S2 at 7,511.08 (cash 7,483.25), the one-range frame bottom at 7,506.83 and one standard deviation support at 7,500.06 follow. The print sits beneath them. At 7,498.25 as of 10:15 PM ET it sits 1.81 beneath that deviation level, and the 7,492.75 low of 07/31/26 and the 7,490.00 overnight low sit beneath it. Pivot S3 at 7,476.17 (cash 7,448.34), two standard deviations support at 7,460.01, the 200-day average at 7,433.00, three standard deviations support at 7,429.28 and the 7,427.83 conversion of the dataset’s 7,400 support complete the list. As of 10:15 PM ET Pivot S1 and the 7,527.83 conversion sit above the market.
The averages sit overhead, all but one. The settle sits 67.75 points beneath the 5-day, 151.25 beneath the 20-day, 154.25 beneath the 50-day and 106.00 beneath the 100-day. It sits 163.75 above the 200-day. Each was rounded once to the 0.25 tick from the 259-session settlement series. The 5-day fell 32.25 from Monday’s 7,696.75 as the 10/27 settle of 7,758.25 left that window. The 20-day fell 13.75 from 7,761.75 as the 10/06 settle of 7,874.00 left. That move took the 20-day beneath the 50-day, now 3.00 points apart; on Monday the 20-day sat 8.00 above. The 30 older settlements in the 50-day window averaged 7,753.00, the 50 older settlements in the 100-day window 7,654.74 and the 100 older settlements in the 200-day window 7,163.37. The 9-day average would be crossed on Wednesday at 7,681.91.
Momentum weakened. On the provider’s published readings, taken at 6:27 PM ET on Tuesday after the Globex reopen, relative strength reads 35.24 on the 9-day, 38.95 on the 14-day and 41.87 on the 20-day. Those readings may already reflect the reopened session’s price. The raw stochastic reads 18.56 percent on both the 9-day and the 14-day. The smoothed 14-day %K at 13.65 percent sits 11.45 beneath %D at 25.10 percent. The composite multi-indicator read published for Wednesday is 72 percent sell, against 56 percent sell for the prior session. Its strength is described as strong and its direction as strengthening, and the trend composite reads sell. A week ago the snapshot read hold, and a month ago 56 percent buy. The short-horizon group averages 100 percent sell, the medium-horizon group 50 percent sell and the long-horizon group 33 percent sell.
Tuesday’s range ran short of the averages. The 14-day average true range stands at 89.92 points and the 14-day average daily range at 92.86. The 9-day figures are 94.62 and 93.06 and the 20-day figures 86.87 and 85.32. Tuesday’s 77.75 point range was 0.84 times the 14-day average daily range. One average true range either side of the settle frames Wednesday between 7,506.83 and 7,686.67. The deviation bands run 7,500.06 to 7,693.44 at one deviation, 7,460.01 to 7,733.49 at two and 7,429.28 to 7,764.22 at three. Built from five settlements, they describe dispersion and say nothing of intraday reach. The 98.50 point overnight decline as of 10:15 PM ET already exceeds one average true range from the settle by 8.58 points.
Zoom out. Daily ranges over the last ten sessions, from 10/21, ran 61.25, 122.00, 65.75, 87.75, 73.00, 69.25, 64.25, 154.75, 123.00 and 77.75 points. Settlement changes read plus 45.00, minus 95.75, minus 44.75, plus 54.75, plus 43.75, plus 25.00, minus 29.00, minus 140.25, minus 39.50 and plus 22.25. One gain followed three declines. Over five sessions the contract is down 161.50 points from the 7,758.25 settle of 10/27. The weekly bar for the week of October 26 spanned 7,819.50 to 7,558.25 and settled at 7,614.00. Tuesday opened 9.50 points above Monday’s settle. Its high sat 70.00 beneath Monday’s 7,693.75 and its low 24.75 beneath Monday’s 7,570.75, a lower high and a lower low. The settle finished at 65.3 percent of the range.
Now the clock. Through the overnight hours and into the 9:00 AM ET bar, the 30-minute closes held between 7,555.75 and 7,589.25. The 2:00 AM ET bar made the 7,546.00 low. The 8:00 AM ET bar rose 18.75 from its 7,569.00 open to 7,587.75. From the 9:30 AM ET bar through the 3:30 PM ET bar the bars stayed between 7,576.50 and 7,623.75. The 10:30 AM ET bar closed at 7,615.25, the 1:30 PM ET bar made the high and closed at 7,616.75, and the 2:30 PM ET bar closed at 7,590.75. In four-hour terms the 10:00 AM ET bar rose 25.50 from its 7,591.25 open to 7,616.75. The 4:00 PM ET bar closed at 7,606.75 and the 4:30 PM ET bar at 7,609.25, 12.50 above the settle.
The semiconductor index rose 2.63 percent while the Dow fell 0.38 percent
The news items below keep their own times. None is tied to a price move here. The 30-minute bars place Tuesday’s low in the 2:00 AM ET bar and the high in the 1:30 PM ET bar, and the bars carry no cause.
Data ran hot. The JOLTS report and factory orders were released at 10:00 AM ET on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, as the calendar lists them. Per the news feed, the JOLTS report showed 7.523 million openings against a forecast of 7.164 million, and factory orders rose 1.8 percent against 1.2 percent. The provider’s commentary linked the rise in yields to those figures, per the provider’s commentary and unconfirmed.
Yields rose. The provider’s ten-year yield index closed at 4.95 percent against 4.89 percent on Monday. The dollar index’s daily record closed at 101.87 against 101.75. The volatility index closed at 20.83 against 21.15, after a session high of 21.91. The news feed’s market wrap described a revival in the artificial-intelligence trade, with bonds lower and the dollar higher, per the news feed.
Technology led, the reverse of Monday. The S&P 500 cash index rose 0.36 percent to 7,568.92, between a 7,594.61 high and a 7,545.39 low. The Nasdaq-100 cash index rose 0.68 percent and the semiconductor index 2.63 percent. The Dow industrials fell 0.38 percent. Per the news feed, its 10:18 AM ET reading of a sentiment index stood at 20 out of 100, in its extreme fear band.
Results arrived after the bell. A chipmaker reported after the cash close on Tuesday, November 3; the calendar lists its results for the date only. The news feed carried revenue of 13.38 billion dollars against an estimate of 13.08 billion. Per the same feed, adjusted earnings were 2.09 dollars a share against 1.97. These are results carried by the news feed. The evening print followed. Electronic trade after the settle ended at 7,609.25 in the 4:30 PM ET bar, 12.50 above the settle, after those results were carried by the news feed. Other items were unconfirmed. The news feed also carried a 9:30 AM ET press report of a bond sale of at least 20 billion dollars by a large technology company, per the news feed and unconfirmed. A 7:48 AM ET press report said a chip designer asked data-centre clients to reduce China exposure, per the news feed and unconfirmed.
Gulf reports ran through the morning. The news feed carried at 8:26 AM ET a regional press report of concessions in US and Iran talks. At 10:14 AM ET and 10:16 AM ET, per the news feed, Iranian state media rejected reports that a deal was close. Both are reports carried by the news feed, not confirmed events. No move is attributed to either.
December WTI crude settled at 96.09, down 0.38 percent. December gold fell 0.74 percent to 3,940.4. No move in either is tied to the reports above.
Activity fell. Tuesday’s December volume was 1,579,232 contracts on the 2026-11-03 row, against 2,002,583 on Monday’s revised 2026-11-02 row, a decline of 423,351 or 21.1 percent. Our Tuesday outlook carried the preliminary 1,933,185 for Monday. Monday’s open interest now reads 1,963,799 on the revised 2026-11-02 row, against 1,951,626 for Friday, a rise of 12,173. Tuesday’s final open interest was not yet reported.
The dealer-positioning dataset used here takes Monday’s closes as its reference prices. Its 7,541 index reference sits 0.40 beneath Monday’s 7,541.40 cash close, and its 27,989 Nasdaq-100 reference sits 0.82 beneath Monday’s 27,989.82. Monday’s 7,541.40 plus 27.52 points, a 0.36 percent gain, gives the provider’s 7,568.92 close. Its narrative states the close as 7,569.
Now the distances, in cash. The close sits 68.92 points above the 7,500 put-side support base (ES 7,527.83 at the measured basis, dataset pair 7,531.85). Above it sit the model levels. It sits 42.08 beneath the 7,611 modeled gamma-flip level (ES 7,638.83, dataset pair 7,642.85) and 81.08 beneath the 7,650 modeled volatility threshold (ES 7,677.83, dataset pair 7,681.85). The largest gamma concentration at 8,000 (ES pair 8,031.85) sits 431.08 points above the close and the 8,100 call-side ceiling (ES pair 8,131.85) 531.08. Then the model readings. In the dataset’s model, gamma tilt reads 0.759, gamma notional minus 975.592 million dollars and the gamma index minus 3.488. Its implied one-day move is 0.60 percent, about 45.41 points on the close, and its 25-delta risk reversal minus 0.067. The modeled threshold and flip level are model outputs; neither is an option strike.
The dataset draws its own map. Its summary lists resistance at 7,600 and 7,700, a dealer-positioning pivot at 7,600, lowered from 7,690, and support at 7,500 and 7,400. Its key strikes are 8,000, 7,000, 7,700 and 7,500, all in cash. The 7,600 pivot sits 31.08 above the close, and the 7,400 support 168.92 beneath it. At the measured basis the 7,600 pivot converts to 7,627.83, the 7,700 resistance to 7,727.83 and the 7,400 support to 7,427.83. The dataset’s summary keeps a cautious stance beneath 7,600 and names 7,400 as the next support. Statements in the dataset about the order of intraday moves are not used; the session path here comes from the futures bars.
The console adds detail. The S&P 500 positioning console, read at 6:17 PM ET, still carried Monday’s 7,541.40 as its last close. Its console price of 7,578.90 is a console reading and differs from Tuesday’s cash close. It shows model call gamma of 2.28 billion against put gamma of minus 3.95 billion. It puts one-month implied volatility at 16.58 percent against realised volatility of 11.50 percent. The implied-volatility rank reads 40.28 percent, the skew rank 27.49 percent and the put-to-call open-interest ratio 1.35. Its high and low volatility point fields were not used. The dataset’s gamma figures and the console’s come from different models and timestamps, and neither is summed with the other.
Damping is the question for Wednesday. In the review’s interpretation a cash close beneath the modeled gamma-flip level at 7,611 and the dataset’s 7,600 pivot, with gamma notional negative, describes an environment in which dealer hedging is more likely to extend moves than to damp them. In the same interpretation, 7,600 acts as resistance above the close, with the 7,500 base 68.92 points beneath it. That reading carries no direction of its own. The overnight session has since traded beneath the 7,527.83 conversion of that base.
The trade map for Wednesday
The primary setup for Wednesday, November 4, is a short from 7,527 to 7,535, set at 10:15 PM ET from the overnight trade. It keeps Tuesday’s direction, with the band bottom 81.00 points lower. The overnight session traded beneath Pivot S2 and the 7,527.83 conversion of the 7,500 base, the composite reads 72 percent sell with direction strengthening, and the cash index closed beneath the modeled gamma-flip level. Now the geometry. The whole band sits beneath Tuesday’s settle, its top 61.75 points down, and above the 7,498.25 print as of 10:15 PM ET, its bottom 28.75 points up. So the short asks for a rebound into the band from the overnight trade. A decline from the settle is not the case it describes. The 7,527.83 conversion sits 0.83 above the band bottom. The stop at 7,556 sits 2.08 above Pivot S1 at 7,553.92 and 40.75 beneath the settle. Targets step down from the band. The first, 7,506, sits 5.08 beneath Pivot S2 and 7.75 above the 10:15 PM ET print. The second, 7,481, sits 4.83 above Pivot S3 and 9.00 beneath the 7,490.00 overnight low. The extended 7,456 sits 4.01 beneath two standard deviations support. The evidence against is plain. In the review’s reading an overnight decline of 1.30 percent can produce a sharp rebound at the cash open. The review calls the setup an analyst judgment that rebounds into the former support base are sold. No measured edge stands behind it.
Now the arithmetic. From the 7,531 midpoint the risk to the stop is 25 points, 27.8 percent of the 14-day average true range of 89.92. The targets sit 25, 50 and 75 points beneath the midpoint. Exact multiples. From the 10:15 PM ET print the midpoint sits 32.75 points higher, the rebound the setup needs. The first target sits 0.83 beneath the one-range frame bottom at 7,506.83, and that frame bottom sits 50.83 above the extended target. The invalidation line, Pivot S1 at 7,553.92, sits 2.08 beneath the stop.
The session bands are the review’s analyst judgment. As of 10:15 PM ET the night session, 6:00 PM ET Tuesday to 3:00 AM ET Wednesday, had traded from 7,633.50 to 7,490.00. For the rest of that session the review expects roughly 7,460 to 7,545, with a lower bias beneath the 7,527.83 conversion. That band’s top sits 17.17 above the conversion. London, from 3:00 AM to 8:00 AM ET, runs roughly 7,450 to 7,550, with a lower bias beneath Pivot S2 at 7,511.08; its top sits 38.92 above Pivot S2. European services surveys are listed between 3:50 AM ET and 4:30 AM ET by the news-feed calendar, unconfirmed.
The cash open at 9:30 AM ET is the first directional test of the overnight decline. The trade report is scheduled for 8:30 AM ET on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, as the calendar lists it. The private payrolls estimate is listed for 8:15 AM ET and the services purchasing managers’ survey for 10:00 AM ET, per the news-feed calendar and unconfirmed. The morning band, 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM ET, runs roughly 7,430 to 7,560, with the 7,527 to 7,535 setup band in its upper half. The afternoon band, 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM ET, runs roughly 7,420 to 7,575. The calendar lists results from a second chipmaker for Wednesday, for the date only.
The scenario ranges, also analyst judgment, run 7,460 to 7,545 for the low-range case, 7,430 to 7,560 for the mid-range case, the most likely, and 7,400 to 7,600 for the high-range case. Wednesday’s evening session opens at 6:00 PM ET. Preliminary productivity and costs are scheduled for 8:30 AM ET on Thursday, November 5, and the employment situation report for 8:30 AM ET on Friday, November 6, as the calendar lists them.
Three paths, ranked. In the review’s analyst judgment the most probable path holds the contract between the 7,427.83 conversion of the 7,400 support and Pivot S1 at 7,553.92. In the same judgment, a rebound toward the 7,527.83 conversion that stalls beneath Pivot S1 is weighted above a recovery through Tuesday’s 7,546.00 low. That is our base case. The review weighs it that way because the overnight session traded beneath the base conversion and Pivot S2, the composite reads 72 percent sell with direction strengthening, and the cash index closed beneath the modeled gamma-flip level. In the review’s reading, a decline larger than Tuesday’s full range leaves room for a rebound at the cash open. The second scenario is a settle above Pivot S1. It would invalidate the reading and could bring the Pivot Point at 7,588.83 back into play. The third runs lower. A move beneath Pivot S3 at 7,476.17 before any rebound could bring two standard deviations support at 7,460.01 and the 7,427.83 conversion into play without the rebound the setup needs.
Tuesday’s targets printed before its band; Wednesday’s band sits 28.75 points above the 10:15 PM ET print, so the rebound has to come first.

The cash close sits 42.08 points beneath the dataset's modeled gamma-flip level at SPX 7,611 and 68.92 points above its put side support base at SPX 7,500. Electronic trade after the settle ended at 7,609.25 in the 4:30 PM ET bar, 12.50 above the settle, after a chipmaker's quarterly results were carried by the news feed.
The composite multi-indicator read published for Wednesday is "72% SELL" with strength "Strong" and direction "Strengthening", against "56% SELL" a session earlier. The primary setup, revised at 10:15 PM ET after the overnight decline from the reopened session's trade, is a short from the 7,527 to 7,535 band around the 7,527.83 conversion of the SPX 7,500 support base, stopped at 7,556, with objectives at 7,506, 7,481 and an extended 7,456.
Overnight update, 10:15 PM ET Tuesday. The reopened Globex session for Wednesday traded from a 7,633.50 high in the 6:30 PM ET bar to a 7,490.00 low in the 10:00 PM ET bar, and the contract traded at 7,498.25 as of 10:15 PM ET, with the 10:00 PM ET bar still forming, 98.50 or 1.30 percent beneath Tuesday's settle, a move larger than Tuesday's full 77.75 point range. The decline took the contract through Pivot S1 at 7,553.92, Tuesday's 7,546.00 low, the 7,527.83 conversion of the SPX 7,500 put side support base and Pivot S2 at 7,511.08. Between 8:16 PM ET and 9:11 PM ET the news feed carried projections of US election results; the 8:00 PM ET and 9:00 PM ET bars, which fell 30.00 and 23.00, coincided with them. These are projections carried by the news feed, not certified results, and the series does not establish that any headline caused a particular move.
The levels in the setup section were set at 10:15 PM ET from the overnight trade, and every Tuesday measurement in this review is unchanged.
2. Price Action & Technical Structure
2.1 Intraday and Session Review
The Tuesday session opened at 7,584.00 at the Monday 6:00 PM ET reopen, 9.50 above Monday's settle, and the 30-minute series of the December contract places the low of 7,546.00 in the 2:00 AM ET bar and the high of 7,623.75 in the 1:30 PM ET bar. Through the overnight hours and into the 9:00 AM ET bar the 30-minute closes held between 7,555.75 and 7,589.25; the 8:00 AM ET bar rose 18.75 from its 7,569.00 open to 7,587.75.
From the 9:30 AM ET bar through the 3:30 PM ET bar the 30-minute bars stayed between 7,576.50 and 7,623.75. The 10:30 AM ET bar closed at 7,615.25, the 1:30 PM ET bar made the session high and closed at 7,616.75, and the 2:30 PM ET bar closed at 7,590.75 before the contract settled at 7,596.75. The 4:00 PM ET bar closed at 7,606.75 and the 4:30 PM ET bar at 7,609.25, the post-settlement print. The series does not establish that any headline caused a particular move.
Tuesday's completed range is taken from the settlement record and the published pivot ladder. Pivot R3 at 7,709.42 minus Pivot S3 at 7,476.17, divided by three, returns 77.75, and Pivot R2 at 7,666.58 minus Pivot S2 at 7,511.08, divided by two, returns the same 77.75. Three times the Pivot Point of 7,588.83 less the 7,596.75 settle gives a high plus low sum of 15,169.74, which solves to a high of 7,623.75 and a low of 7,546.00 within published rounding; that pair reproduces all seven published rungs. These are the completed-session inputs behind the published pivot ladder rather than an independently read bar, and they are corroborated by the provider's settlement row and the chart's completed daily bar, which carry the same 7,584.00 open, 7,623.75 high, 7,546.00 low and 7,596.75 settle.
2.2 Daily Structure
Tuesday printed a lower high and a lower low against Monday but settled higher. Settlements over the last eight sessions read 7,659.75, 7,714.50, 7,758.25, 7,783.25, 7,754.25, 7,614.00, 7,574.50 and 7,596.75, so Tuesday's 22.25 gain followed declines of 29.00, 140.25 and 39.50. Over five sessions the contract is down 161.50 from the 7,758.25 settle of 10/27.
The weekly bar for the week of October 26 spanned 7,819.50 to 7,558.25 and settled at 7,614.00. The provider publishes 7,905.00 as the 52-week and 13-week high and 7,897.50 as the one-month high.
2.3 4-Hour and Swing Structure
The four-hour bars for Tuesday's session, read from the chart, show the 6:00 PM ET bar closing at 7,573.25 and the 10:00 PM ET bar at 7,556.75. The 2:00 AM ET bar held the session low and closed at 7,569.75, the 6:00 AM ET bar closed at 7,591.25 and the 10:00 AM ET bar, which made the session high, closed at 7,616.75, 25.50 above its 7,591.25 open. The 2:00 PM ET bar closed at 7,609.25.
Daily ranges for the last ten sessions, from 10/21, ran 61.25, 122.00, 65.75, 87.75, 73.00, 69.25, 64.25, 154.75, 123.00 and 77.75. The published grid places the price that would cross the 9-day average at 7,681.91 and the 3-10 day crossover stall level at 7,569.75.
2.4 Moving Averages
The averages cited here were computed from the provider's daily settlement series for the December contract, which holds 259 completed sessions from 10/24/25 through Tuesday; the partial row of the reopened Wednesday session is excluded, and each average is carried at full precision and rounded once to the quarter point. The 5-day average stands at 7,664.50, the 20-day at 7,748.00, the 50-day at 7,751.00, the 100-day at 7,702.75 and the 200-day at 7,433.00.
The 7,596.75 settle sits 67.75 beneath the 5-day average, 151.25 beneath the 20-day, 154.25 beneath the 50-day and 106.00 beneath the 100-day, and 163.75 above the 200-day. The 5-day average fell from Monday's 7,696.75 as Tuesday's settle replaced the 10/27 settle of 7,758.25, and the 20-day fell from 7,761.75 as the 10/06 settle of 7,874.00 left the window.
The 20-day average now sits beneath the 50-day because the 30 older settlements in the 50-day window averaged higher, at 7,753.00; on Monday the 20-day of 7,761.75 sat above the 50-day of 7,753.75. The 50-day sits above the 100-day because the 50 older settlements in the 100-day window averaged lower, at 7,654.74, and the 100-day sits above the 200-day because the 100 older settlements in the 200-day window averaged lower, at 7,163.37.
2.5 Oscillator and Trend Readings
The oscillator figures below are as published on the provider's technical page, read at 6:27 PM ET on Tuesday after the Globex reopen; they are the provider's readings, none was computed for this review, and the page may already reflect the reopened session's price. The 9-day relative strength reads 35.24, the 14-day relative strength 38.95 and the 20-day relative strength 41.87.
The 9-day raw stochastic reads 18.56 percent and the 14-day raw stochastic 18.56 percent, while the 14-day stochastic %K reads 13.65 percent and the 14-day stochastic %D 25.10 percent.
The composite multi-indicator read published for the Wednesday session is "72% SELL", with signal strength "Strong" and direction "Strengthening", and the trend composite reads "SELL". The snapshot history reads "56% SELL" for the prior session, "HOLD" a week ago and "56% BUY" a month ago. The short horizon group averages "100% SELL", the medium group "50% SELL" and the long group "33% SELL".
2.6 Volatility and Expected Range
The published 14-day average true range stands at 89.92 points and the 14-day average daily range at 92.86 points; the 9-day average true range is 94.62 with a 9-day average daily range of 93.06, and the 20-day average true range is 86.87 with a 20-day average daily range of 85.32. Tuesday's 77.75 point range was 0.84 multiples of the 14-day average daily range.
Adding and subtracting the 14-day average true range of 89.92 from the 7,596.75 settle frames Wednesday between 7,506.83 and 7,686.67. The published standard-deviation bands, built from five settlements, span 7,500.06 to 7,693.44 at one deviation, 7,460.01 to 7,733.49 at two and 7,429.28 to 7,764.22 at three. These bands describe dispersion, not intraday reach.
3. Key Levels
3.1 Resistance
Above the 7,596.75 settle, the first references are the 7,600.70 turning-point projection and the 7,609.25 post-settlement print. Tuesday's 7,623.75 high, the 7,627.83 conversion of the dataset's SPX 7,600 pivot, Pivot R1 at 7,631.67 and the 7,638.83 conversion of the SPX 7,611 modeled gamma-flip level form the next band. Pivot R2 at 7,666.58, the 7,677.83 conversion of the SPX 7,650 modeled volatility threshold and the 9-day crossing price at 7,681.91 are the extended references, with one standard deviation resistance at 7,693.44 and the 7,727.83 conversion of SPX 7,700 beyond. As of 10:15 PM ET the overnight session traded beneath Pivot S1 at 7,553.92 and the 7,527.83 conversion of SPX 7,500, so those two references now sit above the market.
3.2 Support
Beneath the settle sit the Pivot Point at 7,588.83 and the 3-10 day crossover stall level at 7,569.75. Pivot S1 at 7,553.92, Tuesday's 7,546.00 low and the published target price at 7,544.42 form the next band. The 7,527.83 conversion of the SPX 7,500 put side support base, Pivot S2 at 7,511.08 and one standard deviation support at 7,500.06 are the deeper references, with the 7,427.83 conversion of the dataset's SPX 7,400 support beyond. As of 10:15 PM ET the overnight session had traded to 7,490.00, beneath Pivot S2 at 7,511.08, so Pivot S3 at 7,476.17, two standard deviations support at 7,460.01 and the 7,427.83 conversion are the active references beneath the market.
4. Macro Drivers
4.1 Dollar, Rates, and Fed Policy
The dollar index's daily record closed at 101.87 against 101.75. The ten-year yield index closed at 4.95 percent; Monday's close was 4.89 percent. The JOLTS report, released at 10:00 AM ET on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, as the calendar lists it, showed 7.523 million openings against a forecast of 7.164 million, and factory orders rose 1.8 percent against 1.2 percent, per the news feed. The provider's commentary linked the rise in yields to those figures, per the provider's commentary and unconfirmed.
4.2 Large-Cap Leadership and Earnings
A chipmaker's results were released after the cash close on Tuesday, November 3, 2026; the calendar lists them for the date only. The news feed carried revenue of 13.38 billion dollars against an estimate of 13.08 billion and adjusted earnings of 2.09 dollars a share against 1.97. The feed also carried a 9:30 AM ET press report of a bond sale of at least 20 billion dollars by a large technology company and a 7:48 AM ET press report that a chip designer asked data-centre clients to reduce China exposure, per the news feed and unconfirmed. These are items carried by the news feed.
4.3 Geopolitical Backdrop
The news feed carried at 8:26 AM ET a regional press report of concessions in US and Iran talks, and at 10:14 AM ET and 10:16 AM ET Iranian state media rejecting reports that a deal was close. These are reports carried by the feeds, not confirmed events. December WTI crude settled at 96.09, down 0.38 percent; no move is tied to the reports.
4.4 Sector Breadth and Rotation
The semiconductor index rose 2.63 percent and the Nasdaq-100 0.68 percent while the Dow industrials fell 0.38 percent and the S&P 500 rose 0.36 percent, the reverse of Monday's pattern. The news feed's 10:18 AM ET reading of a sentiment index at 20 out of 100 sat in its extreme fear band, per the news feed.
4.5 Cross-Asset and Volatility
The volatility index closed at 20.83; Monday's close was 21.15, and its session high was 21.91. Gold's December contract fell 0.74 percent. The futures settled 27.83 points above the cash close, against 33.10 on Monday, both measured as the December settle less the provider's cash close for the same session.
4.6 Institutional Positioning
Open interest on the December contract stood at 1,963,799 on Monday per the settlement record; Tuesday's figure was not yet reported. Tuesday's December volume was 1,579,232 contracts against 2,002,583 on Monday.
5. SPX Options Flow Context
The dealer-positioning dataset read for this section uses Monday's closes as its reference prices, not Tuesday's: SPX 7,541 sits 0.40 beneath Monday's 7,541.40 cash close and NDX 27,989 sits 0.82 beneath Monday's 27,989.82. Monday's 7,541.40 plus 27.52 points, a 0.36 percent gain, gives the provider's 7,568.92 close, which the dataset's narrative also states as 7,569; every level below is read against the provider's close.
On the index the primary call side ceiling sits at SPX 8,100, the largest gamma concentration at SPX 8,000, the modeled volatility threshold at SPX 7,650, the modeled gamma-flip level at SPX 7,611 and the primary put side support base at SPX 7,500. The close sits 531.08 points beneath the ceiling, 431.08 beneath the largest concentration, 81.08 beneath the threshold, 42.08 beneath the flip level and 68.92 above the put side base. Gamma tilt reads 0.759, gamma notional minus 975.592 million dollars and the dataset's gamma index minus 3.488, with an implied one-day move of 0.60 percent and a 25-delta risk reversal of minus 0.067. The dataset's summary lists resistance at 7,600 and 7,700, its dealer-positioning pivot at 7,600, lowered from 7,690, and support at 7,500 and 7,400, and its key strikes are SPX 8,000, 7,000, 7,700 and 7,500.
The dataset publishes its own December futures pair for each level, carrying the source's 31.85 point offset and not the measured 27.83 point basis: the ceiling at 8,131.85, the largest concentration at 8,031.85, the modeled volatility threshold at 7,681.85, the modeled gamma-flip level at 7,642.85 and the put side support base at 7,531.85. These are quoted as the source's pairs. The modeled threshold and flip level are model outputs, not option strikes. At the measured basis the SPX 7,500 base converts to 7,527.83, the SPX 7,600 pivot to 7,627.83, the SPX 7,611 flip level to 7,638.83, the SPX 7,650 threshold to 7,677.83, the SPX 7,700 resistance to 7,727.83 and the SPX 7,400 support to 7,427.83.
The dataset's summary keeps a cautious stance beneath 7,600 and names 7,400 as the next support. Statements in the dataset about the order of intraday moves are not used; the session path in section 2.1 comes from the 30-minute futures series.
The S&P 500 positioning console, read at 6:17 PM ET, carried Monday's 7,541.40 as its last close and a console price of 7,578.90, which is a console reading rather than Tuesday's cash close. It shows call gamma of 2.28 billion against put gamma of minus 3.95 billion, one-month implied volatility of 16.58 percent against realised volatility of 11.50 percent, an implied-volatility rank of 40.28 percent, a skew rank of 27.49 percent and a put-to-call open-interest ratio of 1.35. The console's high and low volatility point fields are excluded.
In this review's interpretation a cash close beneath the modeled gamma-flip level at SPX 7,611 and the dataset's 7,600 pivot, with gamma notional negative, describes an environment in which dealer hedging is more likely to extend moves than to damp them, with SPX 7,600 acting as resistance above the close and the SPX 7,500 base 68.92 points beneath it. The primary setup, revised at 10:15 PM ET, sells the 7,527 to 7,535 band around the 7,527.83 conversion of the SPX 7,500 base after the overnight session traded beneath it, with the stop above Pivot S1 at 7,553.92.
6. Forecast
6.1 Night Session (6:00 PM ET Tuesday to 3:00 AM ET Wednesday, Globex/Asia)
Globex reopened at 6:00 PM ET and, as of 10:15 PM ET, had traded from the 7,633.50 high in the 6:30 PM ET bar to the 7,490.00 low in the 10:00 PM ET bar while the news feed carried projections of US election results. Expected band for the rest of the session roughly 7,460 to 7,545, its top 17.17 above the 7,527.83 conversion of SPX 7,500; bias lower beneath that conversion.
6.2 London Session (3:00 AM to 8:00 AM ET Wednesday)
From 3:00 AM ET European trading opens with European services surveys listed between 3:50 AM ET and 4:30 AM ET by the news-feed calendar, unconfirmed. Expected band roughly 7,450 to 7,550, its top 38.92 above Pivot S2 at 7,511.08; bias lower beneath that pivot.
6.3 Morning Session (9:30 AM to 12:00 PM ET Wednesday, RTH Open)
The cash open at 9:30 AM ET is the first directional test of the overnight decline, after the trade report at 8:30 AM ET on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, as the calendar lists it; the services purchasing managers' survey is listed for 10:00 AM ET by the news-feed calendar, unconfirmed. Expected band roughly 7,430 to 7,560, with the 7,527 to 7,535 setup band in the upper half.
6.4 Afternoon Session (12:00 PM to 4:00 PM ET Wednesday)
The cash close at 4:00 PM ET sets the reference before results from a second chipmaker, which the calendar lists for Wednesday, November 4, 2026, for the date only. Expected band roughly 7,420 to 7,575.
6.5 Night Session Forward (6:00 PM ET Wednesday)
The Wednesday evening session opens at 6:00 PM ET after the second chipmaker's results, listed for the date only. The employment situation report is scheduled for 8:30 AM ET on Friday, November 6, 2026, as the calendar lists it.
6.6 Expected Range (Wednesday Full Session)
Low-range scenario: 7,460 to 7,545
Mid-range scenario (most likely): 7,430 to 7,560
High-range scenario: 7,400 to 7,600
6.7 Most Likely Path
In this review's analyst judgment, revised at 10:15 PM ET, the most probable path holds the contract between the 7,427.83 conversion of the SPX 7,400 support and Pivot S1 at 7,553.92, with a rebound toward the 7,527.83 conversion of SPX 7,500 that stalls beneath Pivot S1 at 7,553.92 weighted above a recovery through Tuesday's 7,546.00 low. The overnight session traded beneath the put side support base conversion and Pivot S2 at 7,511.08, the composite reads "72% SELL" with direction "Strengthening" and the cash index closed beneath the modeled gamma-flip level, while, in the same judgment, an overnight decline larger than Tuesday's full range leaves room for a rebound at the cash open.
The alternative that would invalidate this reading is a settle above Pivot S1 at 7,553.92, which would bring the Pivot Point at 7,588.83 back into play. On the other side, a move beneath Pivot S3 at 7,476.17 before any rebound would bring two standard deviations support at 7,460.01 and the 7,427.83 conversion into play without the rebound the setup needs.
7. Wednesday Economic Calendar
Tuesday's releases are complete. The JOLTS report and factory orders, both released at 10:00 AM ET on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, as the calendar lists them, came in at 7.523 million openings against a forecast of 7.164 million and a 1.8 percent rise in orders against 1.2 percent, per the news feed. A chipmaker's results were released after the cash close on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, as the calendar lists them, and the midterm elections took place on Tuesday, per the news-feed calendar and unconfirmed.
On Wednesday, November 4, 2026, the trade report is scheduled for 8:30 AM ET, as the calendar lists it, and the calendar lists results from a second chipmaker for the same day, for the date only. The private payrolls estimate is listed for 8:15 AM ET and the services purchasing managers' survey for 10:00 AM ET, per the news-feed calendar and unconfirmed.
Later in the week, preliminary productivity and costs are scheduled for 8:30 AM ET on Thursday, November 5, 2026 and the employment situation report for 8:30 AM ET on Friday, November 6, 2026, both as the calendar lists them. In this review's judgment the first-order event for the S&P 500 on Wednesday is the cash open at 9:30 AM ET, the first cash session after the chipmaker's results and the overnight projections of US election results carried by the news feed, after the overnight session traded beneath the SPX 7,500 conversion.
8. Primary Trade Setup
Direction: Short
Rationale: The overnight session traded beneath Pivot S2 at 7,511.08 and the 7,527.83 conversion of the SPX 7,500 put side support base, the composite reads "72% SELL" and the cash index closed beneath the modeled gamma-flip level. A rebound into the 7,527 to 7,535 band around the 7,527.83 conversion offers a short with a defined risk point above Pivot S1 at 7,553.92. An overnight decline of 1.30 percent can produce a sharp rebound at the cash open, so the setup is an analyst judgment that rebounds into the former support base are sold, not a measured edge. The levels were set at 10:15 PM ET from the overnight trade.
Entry Zone: 7,527 to 7,535
Stop Loss: 7,556 (above Pivot S1 at 7,553.92)
Target 1 (T1): 7,506 (beneath Pivot S2 at 7,511.08)
Target 2 (T2): 7,481 (above Pivot S3 at 7,476.17)
Target 3 (T3, extended): 7,456 (beneath two standard deviations support at 7,460.01)
Risk-to-Reward: Approximately 1:1 to T1, 1:2 to T2, 1:3 to T3
Invalidation: A settle above Pivot S1 at 7,553.92 negates the thesis. Short of that, the edge is removed by acceptance above the entry band, defined as two consecutive 30-minute closes above 7,535; a touch alone does not remove it.
Macro override: A rebound in technology shares at the cash open, or a reversal of the overnight selling, would support the index. In that scenario a move through the 7,556 stop invalidates the short before the targets, and the Pivot Point at 7,588.83 becomes the reference, 32.83 beyond the stop and inside one 14-day average true range of 89.92.
Sources and methodology
This outlook is built from our session review of the December E-mini S&P 500 contract, the December ’26 contract, prepared after Tuesday’s close on November 3, 2026 for the Wednesday, November 4, 2026 session and revised at 10:15 PM ET on Tuesday from the reopened Wednesday session. Tuesday’s completed extremes are the inputs behind the published pivot ladder: Pivot R3 at 7,709.42 less Pivot S3 at 7,476.17, divided by three, and Pivot R2 at 7,666.58 less Pivot S2 at 7,511.08, divided by two, both return 77.75, and three times the 7,588.83 Pivot Point less the settle gives a high-plus-low sum of 15,169.74, which the pair of 7,623.75 and 7,546.00 reproduces within published rounding. The provider’s settlement row and the chart’s completed Tuesday daily bar carry the same 7,584.00 open, 7,623.75 high, 7,546.00 low and 7,596.75 settle. Those figures, the 30-minute bars of the December contract from the Monday 6:00 PM ET reopen and the review’s own statements are the only evidence used to grade Tuesday’s card; times of day come from those bars and are Eastern time. Overnight prices for the Wednesday session are 30-minute bar prints as of 10:15 PM ET, with the 10:00 PM ET bar still forming; none is a settle. The partial row of the reopened Wednesday session is excluded from every count and average. Monday’s volume now reads 2,002,583 contracts on the revised 2026-11-02 row, which replaces the preliminary 1,933,185 carried in Tuesday’s outlook, and that row’s open interest reads 1,963,799; that post was not changed. Tuesday’s final open interest was not yet reported.
The moving averages were computed from the provider’s 259-session daily settlement series through Tuesday and rounded once to the 0.25 tick. The oscillators and range averages are cited as published, read at 6:27 PM ET on Tuesday after the Globex reopen. The dealer-positioning dataset uses Monday’s closes as its reference prices and a fixed 31.85 point translation for its futures column, so cash equivalents here use the 27.83 point basis measured on Tuesday, settlement against cash close. The dataset’s statements about the order of intraday moves are not used. The dataset’s gamma figures and the console’s call and put gamma are separate model measures from different timestamps; they are shown side by side, each with its source, and never combined. The console’s high and low volatility point fields are not used. Company results are described generically. Scenario ranges are analyst judgment. Items marked unconfirmed come from the news-feed calendar, the news feed or the provider’s commentary, and every catalyst whose release time had passed at the time of writing is recorded as completed.
Tuesday’s outlook for this contract is here, and the Nasdaq-100 contract’s Tuesday outlook set the levels for the index whose cash close rose 0.68 percent on Tuesday. Outlooks for ES, NQ, GC and CL are collected on the market outlook page, and our forward trading record is on the performance statement.
